The World We Live In

Guys have a look at this.

A Real Family is Transparent

Dear Primers,
I am very encouraged by this new wave of primers rising up. I realised the spring stayover was really a good one as we bonded really well and found out for ourselves what family meant to us.
As i look around i also started to see people getting more and more commited to this ground and the people who are beginning to understand what kind of family we really are.
And to add on more of what already was being shared in the stayover, a family needs to learn to be transparent. As in transparent between each other and our feelings towards one another.
We cannot expect the outsiders to get into the family and share with us their lives if in the first place we dun do it.
Take a look at this pic on my right.
Our family must come to a point of transparency where one look and we know what each other is thinking, doing and why we are doing wat we are doing. by the way it is a transparent fridge in case you are wondering.
So guys lets press on and learn what it really means to be a family.

We Started with Nothing

I think it is an undeniable fact that expectations grow when we become stronger and bigger. This was revealed to me at the spring stayover.

Imagine a Nokia 8250 that was rated 9/10 by industry experts when it was rolled out several years back and a Nokia N73 that was rated 9/10 by the same industry experts when it was out recently.

But do both have the same features, looks, strength etc? The answer is pretty obvious.

The N73 has got a 3.2 mega pixel camera while the 8250 has… no camera. The N73 has got a big and colourful screen while the 8250 has only a small blue screen to boast of.

“But why both 9/10?” you ask.

If we think back and look through our past, don’t you think that the 8250 is a really great phone? What about now? Would you want to pay $200+ for that?

As time passes, there will be more expectation and demands. We are constantly seeking new and better things but we tend to forget about our humble beginnings.

When we just started out, when we have over 20 people joining us we would be elated and over the moon. Put it in to today’s context, if you have only 20 people, the Exco will start to panic and push very hard for numbers. A 20-people event will be an event that failed terribly.

So guys, lets think back, especially for those who have been with us from the beginning. Think of all the times where we had so much fun and laughter even with 10 people.

For the younger ones, you’ve seen Primers when it was getting bigger but ask yourself, are you willing to stay even if you are the only one left in Primers?

From everyone who has been given much, much will be demanded; and from the one who has been entrusted with much, much more will be asked. - Luke 12:48

Sheng Long
