We Are The Champion!

SP.Primers participated in the Inter-Primers Olympics Day 2007 (IPOD). This year it was organized by Nayang Polytechnic Primers and was held at Ngee Ann Polytechnic. We sent in 2 captain's ball (girl's team), basketball (girl and boy) teams and a soccer team.

It was really a worth-while spending with other Primers from other Polytechnic. We had lots of fun and had a great opportunity to interact with other Primers from other Polytechnic too. It gives us a chance to know the other poly primers better and work together towards building the Primers as a strong family.

Our teams had done us proud by winning the OVERALL CHAMPION in this year IPOD!
We really want to thank those who had come down to support us! And not forgetting the wonderful cheers that shouted during the Captain’s Ball game, it really encourage and motivate the girls a lot. A really big THANK YOU to everyone there!

* Huishan * When she was a freshman

Hem hemm HEMm.. A big HELLO to all of you out there looking at this! Welcome to this entry, and the entries to come! Haha.. It’s now the special moment when YOU are able to know more about ME! Before that, here is some basic information that you SHOULD know! I am HUISHAN (in case you do not know), Year 3 studying in Diploma in Business Administration, standing at 1.60m, shoulder-length hair,……

Year 3 now, thinking back when I just came into the school like any of you did, it seems like yesterday. I came to know Primers even before I was in SP by my seniors because I’m from Girl’s Brigade. I was not really considering Primers at that time but I wrote down my name.

I did not attend Welcome Party and Primers Orientation Camp and went straight to Annual General Meeting (Primers’ Award) together with Shihui, and at that time, AGM should be the most boring event of all. It was my first event and I had come thus far in this family. That’s why, I always believe it’s not a matter of When, it’s a matter of Will. And I really thank those seniors who never give up on calling me. Or else, I will not be here. This was how I started off my journey in Primers.

When I was in Year 1, my only task was to attend event. I cannot help but love attending events because I really enjoyed the company of my fellow Primers. It just so fun hanging out with them and my life in Primers, or even SP, would be so different without them. They are like brothers and sisters to me.

One of the most significant things that I did thus far in my life was to go for humanitarian trip to Sri Lanka, in the Tamil Tiger Region to help in the Tsunami when I was in Year 1. Together with 19 Primers and officers, we were away for 2 weeks in helping in the rebuilding. It was definitely not an easy to be away from home without any communication, we learnt to adapt and grow in it. Thank God for the people that was with me and took care of me. In it, our relationship was also stronger. It was an exprience that only you can experience yourself and should not miss it.

If, by ANY chance you are unable to go for oversea trip, I highly recommend you to join us for RIO Camp, on the 26th-28th October 2007. I attend it for the past 2 years, and definitely will attend it this year. One thing that I remembered deeply in the RIO Camp last year was SP.Primers slogan, “Youth Today Leaders Tomorrow”. Indeed, I was a participant (Youth) when I was in Year 1 attending RIO Camp, and in Year 2 when I attended RIO Camp again, I am a group Leader. Same for you =)

Sealed with alot lots LOVE,
* Huishan *

Psssshsshshshhh.. Sorry for such a long entry. Look out for more on how I manage Primers when I am in Year 2. =)

An Enjoyable Day!

Mooncake festival was indeed enjoyable! It has been really a long time since I last played with lanterns. The last time I played was probably during primary school. So hence the mooncake festival was a good way to relieve those childhood memories.

We played mass games such as not letting other groups to burst our own group’s balloons. To do that, everyone was allowed to run about trying to burst other groups’ balloons with the help of candles. It was really fun and exciting. The group who lost had to do forfeit. The highlight of the event was the free time where we get to do what we want. We burned lanterns and played with candles by forming words. Overall, I got to know my mates better and I enjoyed myself very much. I can’t wait for next year mooncake festival!

Cycling Is Fun!

Pulau ubin cycling was another event organized by primers. Perhaps the meeting time was early that is why some people felt very tired while others were feeling very excited.

During the trip, we took a boat to reach our destination hence some of ours got to mingle and talked to one another. Through this, I feel that our cluster become closer with one another. After that, we gathered together to rent our bikes. There was probably some unhappiness because some of the brakes of the bikes were faulty but there was no choice. We proceeded to start the icebreaker game. Through this, we got to know one and another better.

After that, we started cycling, some people could not catch up with the pace, so we waited for one another. There came to a point when we were cycling halfway and around 2-3 persons went missing. We found out that they were injured hence they stopped cycling. As a close friend, I felt sorry as I could not do anything. After the cycling trip, we gathered back together. While most of us feel tired after a hard day of cycling, we still had an enjoyable time with one another.
Like wad primers always say, we learn to care, and wait for one another.
