NDP Journey so FAR

9th of August is fast approaching and it has been many weeks since NDP training started. The first 4 weeks of NDP training was at Simei ITE. Every training at Simei ITE was a fun time for all motivators, the programs there were meant to build up the bonds within the groups. There was this particular game that was being played which involved every motivator from different schools. All the motivators from the same school had our legs tied together and everyone walked together to reach the finishing line. There is a video in an earlier post, showing all the motivators playing this game. The Link is here.

When the weekly training moved to the Padang, there was a lot of free time, all TLs started to play ice breakers with their group. The holding area became so NOISY with the motivators screaming and shouting while they were playing the games. This is the second year that SP.Primers is involved in NDP; every year is a different experience for all the motivators. What makes NDP'10 so special is that it will be held at the Padang, a place that has been the venue for many significant events in our nation's history.

During the day of CR3 (2th July 2010), dark clouds gathered around Singapore. Not long before I knew, it poured heavy. When I arrived at Padang, it had stopped raining, but the area was muddy and wet. The skies were greyish the entire afternoon and when the motivators moved in to Padang, it started to drizzle. The motivators dressed in BB polo tee, continued to soldier on in their task of motivating the crowd. No one wore the poncho, no one took out the umbrella, and no one ran for shelter. This is the spirit of a Motivator.

NE 1 was the first NE show with the Primary 5 kids and some members of the public. It was the first time where there were Motivators dressed up in their brightly coloured jumpsuit. With each
motivator looking like a member of the famed Red Lions parachute team, the crowd was amused with our attire.

Our motivators doing their job, never failed to bring a smile
to everyone who attended NDP'10.

While waiting for the crowd to settle down, lets take a photo.

With just a few more shows to go, I would like to encourage all the motivators to keep up the spirit and remember to "zhi-high" and always SMILE! Motivate the crowd until everyone stands up and sing along or better still, getting all the "Ah Ma"s to stand on the seats and start singing along with us.

A motivator with a smile, ready to motivate the crowds!
