Never Take Your Health for Granted

I always have the impression that cancer patients are sickly and weak (blame those soap drama) but I was proven wrong. The patient that my group visited looks healthy and normal, just like most of us. She was very lucky that her cancer was diagnosed during the early stage so her condition can be kept under control by medication.

Her husband is the sole breadwinner and it wasn’t easy for him to cover both household and medical expenses. Despite of their financial difficulty, her family and her are very positive toward her condition. They did not grumble about how bad their situation was because they know that there are others out there who are in worst situations.

Of course, family plays a very important part too. With the help and moral support from the family members, it pulled her through the tough period. I felt that with family’s support and a positive mindset, it will help us to overcome whatever difficulties we met.

Lastly, we should never take our health for granted and really take care of our health. And yes, I finally realised the importance of going for a yearly checkup so that action can be taken early if anything goes wrong.

thanks.

with tons of SMILE,

JULI.(:
