Primers Award Night 2010

Come join us on the 21 May as we recap and reminisce on the year past.

As the adage goes: out with the old and in with the new. On an evening like this, we choose to appreciate the current EXCO for the blood, sweat and tears they've put for the club. You'll have to see it for yourself to judge! And as the torch is passed on, we welcome the new committee with excited anticipation!

Come celebrate with us on this evening. Oh, but wait, lest you think it's just a show that doesn't concern you, I'll have you know that there will be movie vouchers you can win too! So stay tuned!

Happy new week to you guys in primers

Its been quite sometime since I last had classes on a monday, and frankly I am grateful to be working. Since young I realised I was never one who really like books. And I do get the monday blues. How do I get thru' the week? Constantly reminding myself that weekend is but 5 days away!

I believe in life that is at times how we survive thru the hard times, the times where we feel so alone and lost. Remember this, that its just but 5 days away from the good times? Personally I would also take time out to find friends, look for them and kinda "chio" them to come out with me to talk to me! On this note, I do hope you can find those friends here in primers and even as a family we are slowly growing out of infancy to a young teen, I hope and pray that we will come thru to our promise to be a real family.

Its tough in these times, and for the freshies, welcome to this exciting journey of discovering who you are. To the year 3s moving on to the working world, your journey has just began! Pls keep in contact!

A little MTV to perk up everyone's life and time now!

What can you gain from your journey in Primers? - Coconuts.

"Woah, can see Singapore from up here!", I exclaimed out loud. Where was I? Halfway up a coconut tree in Tanjung Piai on the southern tip of Peninsula Malaysia. What was I doing? Taking part in the Basic Officers Training Course Residential Weekend. Climbing up a coconut tree (btw thats someone else, not me climbing in the picture) was one of the activities lined up. It feels kind of like a high elements obstacle but unlike the man-made ones that we are used to, this is au naturel and 100% organic.

When I was done gawking at the sight of home, I looked down at the people who were supporting me. There was 1 belayer, 1 anchor man, 1 backup belayer, 1 rope manager and a couple other people providing vocal support. 6 people working hard just to get 1 person to the top safely.

There and then I found a parallel between this experience and that of a typical journey in Primers. The officers and student leadership of the club play a supporting role for each Primer so that they can achieve over and above what they were ever able to do on their own. And like those of us climbing the coconut tree in Malaysia, each Primer can decide how high they would like to climb. A quarter way? Half way? Or even all the way up. We cannot haul each other up the tree but we can continue to be both challenging and supportive at the same time. Each member of the Primers family is there to help one another achieve their goals and dreams no matter how big or small.

Thats how Primers will continue to be, so that everyone of us can climb high and get to the coconuts at the top.

Freshies some pics about NDP for you!

This NDP will be the best ever SP.Primers will ever have

Dear Freshies, I recalled some of you asking me if there were any pictures of our recent NDP experience. SO I have decided to re-post the pictures again!

This year NDP would be our 2nd time that we are joining as a club. I do believe it would be our best experience as this year's NDP would be at the Padang! And as a club we have been specially selected to be the motivators at Padang. I am excited and I am looking forward to helping the crowd get into the mood of the Parade.

I always remember that one rehearsal that was CR2, that rained non stop. It was chaotic at the end of the parade as the rain came pouring down just at the end of the parade. As the parade carried on with saying the pledge. I remembered the sight of all our primers standing steadfast refusing to bulge and continue saying our national pledge proudly!

It was a special moment for me personally, as my love for my nation was reaffirmed once again!

I'm totally excited!. Are you excited?

This period of time brings me back memories of what I my seniors experienced the previous year, having ITP and working hard for the committee that I am leading for YOUcampaign, and I took the time to arrange a photo-video using the photos I have collected from the events that led to YOUcampaign last year.

It brought back many wonderful memories that i have experienced and it constantly encourages me to let the people who are involved in this campaign to have a wonderful memory and experience. Experiencing the wonderful moments together as a family!
